Overall, I don't regret getting rhinoplasty at all. The result looks really natural - maybe even *too* natural, because my own parents didn't even notice I'd had my nose done. 😂 Sometimes I wonder what it would have looked like if I had chosen a silicone implant too, since the swelling has gone down quite a bit and my bridge isn't as high as it was during the first few months. But honestly, I'm really happy with how it turned out. My nose suits my face, and I know it can continue to settle over the next few months. Post-op month 6: Nose gets more and more natural looking over time. Eyes and nose feels good overall and I can breathe really well now thanks to the septoplasty. I am currently on day 13 of recovery. My nose is still very swollen, but i had no major issues with swelling and bruising (that was just the first few days post-op for me) and it is difficult to see what the final results will look like right now. People around me have mentioned that the nose bridge swelling has already gone down bit by bit, which is reassuring. Overall, my experience has been very positive. Results: My double chin / jowls are gone! However, my under chin area is still a bit swollen with some numbness + muscle firmness? In summary, here are some of my tips so far: 1. Get some cough drops - you'll cough quite a fair bit after going through general anaesthesia as your throat will be scratched from tubing 2. Bring face masks and a beanie - no one honestly cares if you're all bandaged up like a mummy lol, but I rather not attract so many eyeballs 3. Bring disposable cups - you can't suck through a straw for a while to prevent the stitches from loosening, and it'll be quite hard to drink through a small bottle opening with your lips the size of sausages for the first few days 4. At around six months post op, my nose looks very natural and well balanced with my face. Occasionally, I still feel a slight tightness when I smile, but I was told this is normal and will continue to improve as healing progresses. One month check in: At one month the swelling is noticeably reduced compared to right after surgery and my side profile was erm idk what words to describe it but amazingg. The bridge sits better and the tip is more refined while still looking natural. At this time I could breathe a little properly now thankfully and there were no complications so far. Day 13: Thoughts So Far/ Overall Thoughts As of now, I'm healing well, though I'm still quite swollen. My nose still feels stuffy and congested, which I've been told is a normal part of the healing process. Hopefully it will get better, once the swelling subsides more. I'm really happy with the shape of my nose, and the results feel very natural which was what I was looking for.
